The Legend of Sukkhu

SUKKHU. Do you wish to know what or who it is, where we came up with such a strange name for our band, which seemingly does not mean anything?

In that case, hear what the Legend tells.

Think of a clear, starry night sky. Have you ever been wondering what’s out there? And what’s beyond that you can see? And even further? This is only a tiny fragment of the Multiverse, which contains not only the Universe known to you or me, but also myriads of other layers, interwoven with each other in the very structure of spacetime. The Multiverse is inhabited by various entities, both incarnate and discarnate, of all kinds of forms, shapes, and auras. Some of these communicate with each other even through different Multiverse layers, others do not possess this ability, and few are even ignorant of all.

At certain places and moments, the secrets of worlds hidden in the fabric of spacetime can be revealed through an overarching force, which bears the name “SUKKHU”. Sukkhu embraces all energy and matter, as well as nothingness; everything physical, mental, and spiritual. However, Sukkhu, although omnipresent and eternal, can only be felt through the unification of souls, whether they are Invoking, Giving, Receiving, Destructing, Indifferent, or any other type. At some places of Multiverse, Sukkhu is frequently used to gain integrity or understanding, along with the freedom of individual wills. This is only possible because Sukkhu does not differentiate between good and evil – it simply encompasses it all.

The tiny fraction of Multiverse, on which entities called “humans” live, has not yet heard of Sukkhu, or maybe it has forgotten its name and sense eons ago. So the two incarnate entities, myself and EGO BMK, were unprepared for anything that was yet to happen.

It was a moonlit midnight, in the middle of December. We were going home from our trip to Normandy, already very tired, looking forward to rest our bodies and souls. But then we saw a magnificent castle towering upon us, a structure so enchanting that we felt the urge to take a detour for one last small stop before returning to the comfort of Paris. We did not know that this was the mighty Gaillard [1], a rare monument still carrying the soulprint of the legendary Richard the Lionheart. We were also unaware that right there, at that particular night, spacetime opened up so different entities were able to reach one another. However, we felt the presence of Dead [2], and we chanted Freezing Moon and Funeral Fog, to all the spirits who could hear us, to the December frost, to the ancient stones and the river beneath them.

And then it happened. In the bewitching atmosphere amidst the mighty ruins, Sukkhu called upon us and chose us to be his Messengers, the Invoking Souls. We knew immediately that we were going to hear the Call, and that we were to do it through our art, which included not only painting and poetry, but also the dark and powerful voice of Black Metal.

Later on, we carried Sukkhu’s message to Megiddo. He, too, understood the urgency of the Call, and joined us as the third Invoking Soul. Since then, we have been working hard on our art, which should spread the name of Sukkhu to anyone wishing become one of the Souls. You can listen, look, read, but you can contribute and expand it, too, for Sukkhu does not see much difference between the Receiving and Giving souls. Hearing our music, seeing our art, reading our words; tell us what you think, get inspired or simply just share – and be One with Sukkhu, One with Thousands Souls.

And the real story? It is embodied within the words of the Legend.
